Vibrant Pittsburgh is an economic development nonprofit whose mission is to build a thriving and inclusive Pittsburgh region by attracting, retaining and elevating a diversity of talent. Melanie Harrington, President and CEO of Vibrant Pittsburgh will discuss the regional dynamics that created both the economic recovery of the Pittsburgh Region and the talent supply issues which present one of the biggest challenges of the region today. She will explain why Pittsburgh leaders have come together to address these challenges with an economic inclusion strategy and the steps Vibrant Pittsburgh is taking as they work to develop and implement this strategy. Attendees will gain insight into how this impacts the legal industry workforce demographics and trends in Pittsburgh.
Our Speaker: Prior to serving as President and CEO of Vibrant Pittsburgh, Melanie Harrington was the president of the American Institute for Managing Diversity, Inc. (AIMD), a national nonprofit diversity think tank based in Atlanta, Georgia. She currently serves on several boards and advisory councils including the Centre for Global Inclusion, the FISA Foundation and the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh. Melanie received her Juris Doctorate from Emory University School of Law and her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in Psychology.
