The source for the compensation survey data is YOU! We invite you to participate.
You can get the survey results at no cost other than your time to input your law firm’s compensation data. Your participation is so important to this process that we provide the survey results ONLY to those members who participate. If you have not participated in recent years, note that the input process is done online and has been streamlined to minimize the time to input your data.
The accounting firm of Kinol Sharie Leyh & Associates will manage the process for you to input your law firm’s compensation data. Kinol Sharie will compile and produce the survey results to protect the confidentiality of each participating firm and corporation.
To BEGIN the process, please send an e-mail to Mike Wasco at email@example.com prior to May 15, 2018 to request a password to access the PLAA members’ section of the Kinol Sharie website. Mike will be distributing passwords on May 15, 2018 (one per law firm). You may input your data anytime between May 15, 2018 and June 15, 2018. The results will be available ONLY to those who have submitted their data by 5:00 p.m. on June 15, 2018.
We plan to have the survey results available to all participating members by July 16, 2018.
ONE MORE REASON TO PARTICIPATE: We are offering an added incentive: All members who are issued a password to input their data and who complete the input by the deadline will be entered into a raffle for an Amazon Echo Show and two (2) Amazon Echo Spots!

Background on the survey:
For over 25 years, the PLAA has conducted a survey of compensation and benefits of its members’ law firms. The published survey results are an essential tool which provides benchmarks for understanding the market that is covered by the PLAA members. The categories of information have been tailored over the years to address the many questions each of us faces in trying to manage in a competitive market and it is the most relevant compensation survey available in that it includes only the law firms in the Pittsburgh region. For most of us, our Managing Partner often wants to know, “What are the other law firms doing?” If you have not seen the survey results, they include answers on the compensation and benefits for associate attorneys, law clerks, paralegals, legal secretaries, all administrative management positions and non-supervisory support positions. There is also information on average years to partnership, average salary increase, billable hours policies, many employee benefits, etc.
